KoPoint’s studio recording space on the border of Soho and Chinatown in Manhattan sits one floor above the space once-known as ‘Abby Road of Rap,’ Chung King Studios. In the 1980s the space was home to early incarnations of Def Jam and served as the audio laboratory for legends like Run DMC, Rick Rubin, Puffy, Nas, The Beastie Boys, and LL Cool J. This episode of KoPoint – an excerpt from Stuart Tracte’s Beer Diplomacy EP 099 – producer and musician Frank Radice recounts a brief history of our recording space.
